School Year 2024-25 Small Group classes

LITTLE KEYNOTES Kindergarten- 1st grade (30 minutes) Thursdays 4:00-4:30 OR Tuesdays 5:15-6:00 This introduction to the piano is an age-appropriate play-based approach! Students will learn short two-bar phrases with lots of songs and games! Listening, repeating, singing, and independent practice time all take place in 30 minutes each week. These lesson plans are designed to create collaborative learning experiences, allowing the youngest students to motivate and inspire one another as they progress and grow! Keyboard geography and rhythm (inner pulse) are two main concepts during the first year. Workbook themes include music inspired by the OCEAN, WEATHER, ANIMAL ALPHABET, MINI BEASTS (insects!) and ON THE FARM. 4 students maximum per class.

STORYTELLERS 2nd-3rd grade beginners (45 minutes) Wednesdays 4:00- 4:45 OR Tuesdays 5:15- 6:00 Introduction to the piano at this age uses a fun story concept every week! This has become a hit! Students love playing music to tell a story while learning fundamental skills and concepts that bring the story to life! Each week allows students to motivate and inspire one another as they progress and grow to the next level. Individual challenge levels will be given with time to consolidate skills on their own in class before playing as an ensemble every week. Stories with musical concepts include THE THREE BEARS, JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, GINGERBREAD MAN,TORTOISE AND THE HARE. Students sing while playing to become better pianists with a solid aural understanding of melody and pitch.
