In an ideal world it is best for a child to play on a “real” piano. Why? It is made of wood and strings and responds to human touch in a way even the youngest child feels. The sound reverberates in their bodies bringing them back again and again to make sounds they love.

RENTAL: Did you know you can RENT a piano? I highly recommend visiting here https://www.vincitorepiano.com/rentals and go pick out your piano with your student!

Vincitore’s is an exciting place to visit in person! Your student can see so many pianos in one place and your child will feel that this is the real deal and the value of music is important to your family. The cost of renting can go toward an upgrade if you ever decide to go that route!

OWNING/PURCHASING : Supreme Pianos in Fishkill https://supremepianos.com/pianos-for-sale/ OR Vincitore’s also has many pianos for sale.

DIGITAL/KEYBOARD: If you want to stick with a keyboard or digital piano (anything that plugs in or uses batteries) for a beginner, the skills learned in lessons are transferable to any acoustic piano. I recommend anything in the Yamaha family that has 88 weighted keys, a bench, a stand, a music holder and a pedal. When you buy in bulk you’ll still have to buy a pedal that plugs in. There are Yamahas for any budget!
